According to some recent surveys, up to one out of five children in U.S is overweight or obese and it is no doubt that this number is more and more continuing to rise in  many countries all over the world. It is time for us to think about this problem carefully and make an alert because obesity can lead to many serious diseases such as  heart disease or diabetes later in life. Obesity can have bad results in your kids’ developing process. They also lead to develop stress, sadness, and low self-esteem.               

So, What are The Causes Obesity in Your Beloved Kids?

There are some causes of childhood obesity. Some of them are habitual causes while some of them are related to the person’s body mechanism. The following are some of the factors that influence obesity in children.

Overweight parents

Sometimes, if both the parents of the child are overweight, there are higher chances of the child being overweight. But this does not mean that obesity is inherited. In these cases, the parents should be more cautious and try to improve the eating habits of the child to prevent obesity. The eating habits of the entire family also have got an important role in contributing to the risk of obesity in children.

Diet

We know that, diet plays a really important role in the overall well-being of the person but the children do not know is well. We normally choose high fat and sugary foods instead of healthier options. There are higher chances of obesity if a child has improper eating habits and times. Junk and fast foods are the biggest culprits in causing obesity in children as well as adults. Excessive eating while watching television is also one of the most common causes of obesity in children.

Lack of physical

activity

Lack of exercise or any physical activity also results in obesity. As a habit, children often choose watching TV or playing games online instead of exercising. As the fats in the body do not get burned off, they start getting deposited in the body. Nevertheless, if a kid has a sedentary lifestyle and no control on his diet, he is more likely to gain excess fats and suffer from the health problems at an early age. Excess or lack of sleep can also cause obesity in children.

If your kid is in obesity, you need to let him know about the dangers he can have got:

•              High cholesterol

•              Hypertension

•              Early heart disease

•              Diabetes

•              Dyslipidemia

•              Bone problems

•              Skin conditions such as heat rash, fungal infections, and acne… etc.

 As soon as we know about the serious diseases that obesity can give your kids, it is necessary to let him or her know about this problem and discuss as well give some methods so that your kids can avoid it. . Improving the diet helps in handling obesity up to a great extent. Moreover, regular exercise or any sports activity also can help in burning all the excess fat in the body and help in enjoying a healthy and normal life!
