Description: Centella asiatica is a perennial, herbaceous creeper with kidney shaped leaves, native to India, China, and found in shady, moist ground garden corner.
For Vietnamese, Centella asiatica becomes familiar as a herbal remedies for many common ailments. The slender branches and small internodes are collected, coarsely washed, and then finely dried to use as tea, in variation of recipes, and so on.
This potent ayurvedic plant contains cholinergic chemical like gamma-aminobutyric acid, Bacosides A and B that help with nerve and cell rejuvenation. It is a natural relaxant and stress reliever and has been used in the treatment of stress, attention deficit disorder, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.
